Inside Out Day
As of today, James has officially been around as a separate person for as long as he was in Mom's tummy. A friend of mine referred to this as "Inside Out Day," which I thought was fun.
James has not been idle lately. As of his check-up last week, he was 29 inches long and just under 22 pounds, which puts him in the 75th percentile for height and a little under the 70th for weight. He has also made it a habit to climb the stairs as often as he can, and has started singing along with the radio, varying his James songs with whatever's on. ("Take On Me," by A-Ha, inspired a song that began "Dla, dla, dla"; Alanis Morrissette's "Ironic" resulted first in "Eeee! Blah! EeeEEEEee!" and then in a cross wail. I feel that way about it too.)
Another recent development is that he's taken to hauling Stripey Bunny (the bunny who used to live on his changing table and can be seen in some early pictures) around the house by his ears. Bunny is not only easily transportable, but also an excellent chew toy. Bunny's also starting to look a little the worse for wear.

Quick! Find a place where you can buy stripey bunny and get at least two more, and start swapping them out before the first one gets too much of a headstart on wear-and-tear.
Trust me, it'll save you some headache and frustration later if you can find some spares. :)
Thanks for the tip! Stripey Bunny just acquired 3 siblings. Your advice couldn't have been more spot on, as Original Stripey Bunny became an amputee over Thanksgiving.
