Other James news

James learned the word "Boom!" over the weekend. It has been a major hit. He loves to say it and to hear it. Most of all, he loves to see it written out -- after he'd gone around saying it for a few hours, I wrote it out on paper so he could see what it looked like. Overwhelming joy! He especially liked that it had two O's -- his favorite letter -- and the ever-popular M (which he pronounces "mmmmmmmmm").

He still likes growling at every animal he sees. We kept the windows open all weekend, since it was so nice out. Sunday morning at dawn I woke to a symphony of growls. James had heard the birds singing outside and felt compelled to respond. After ceremonially growling at each bird, he rolled over and went right back to sleep.
