Sodor & Gomorrah

For months I stalled about watching "Thomas the Tank Engine" videos. We don't watch that much television (I hesitate to tell people that we don't have cable, because it makes us sound like zealots, but it's true: we've never gotten around to subscribing), and I feared indoctrinating the boys into the preschool-wide cult of Thomas.

But -- as we mentioned in an earlier post -- a friend lent us a few videos last month, and we watched one on a rainy afternoon. Oh, we are hooked, and I'm the worst of the bunch. My favorite episodes are the ones narrated by Ringo, but I've enjoyed each one so far.

James has taken to imitating the trains' eye flickers (in case you don't know, the eyes are the only part of the trains' faces that move, so they roll back and forth constantly as the trains speak). This does startle people who aren't in the know.
