Surprised by enjoyment

Two of James's friends lent him Thomas the Tank Engine videos this week, so we've finally gotten around to watching the famous show.

It was surprisingly enjoyable, not least because the set budget for the entire series appears to have been $5. Lots of wooden dolls posed on the backs of trains; about three facial expression masks for each train; many, many lovingly shot close-ups of the switches of some dude's train set. I was charmed.
