Recent travels, round 2
After we left Avebury we drove to Bath and spent a couple of days there. The highlight for James and Thomas was a restaurant called the Hole in the Wall, which was a delicious modern British restaurant with very patient waitstaff. James and Thomas shared a steak, somewhat noisily. After they were done the waitress came up and asked, "Was it yummy?" To James's ears it sounded like "yum-may", and he pronounced everything "yum-may" for a couple of days afterwards.
We brought the snow with us to Bath and watched it falling into the hot springs at the Roman bath complex. This ended up becoming a theme -- we also watched snow falling on Dartmoor in Devon and in Berlin as well. Not quite what we'd had in mind, but at any rate the hot springs provided a nifty contrast with the snow.
