Mongoose
We read "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" last week, and Thomas identified so strongly with the protagonist that he's started calling himself "Mongoose." I need to get a recording of him saying "mongoose"; it is very cute. The name fits him, too. I started laughing when I read the line about the mongoose family motto being "Go and find out" because that is also Thomas's motto. Particularly, I might add, if there's any possibility of finding out what's on top of the piano. He skinned up there in eight seconds. When I rushed in to take him down, he was appalled. "Not fall!" he protested.
On a less daredevil note, Thomas also had his eighteen-month checkup yesterday. He's 33 1/4 inches long and weighs 24 1/2 pounds, in keeping with his tendency to run at the 75th height and 25th weight percentiles.

Oh man... I'm glad that I know what I'm in for with a boy, based on reading the exploits of your little men. Girls are soooo different!
Henry is at the opposite end of the growth chart spectrum-- he's always in the highest for his head, middle to high for his weight, and low for his length. Hopefully he'll stretch out soon! :)
