Addendum

So James has now decided that one of his friends (a lovely girl who lives nearby) lives in his imaginary apartment with him. What do they do there? They read books made of ham.

Thomas, meanwhile, has fallen in love with Dave. He follows him everywhere in the house and pokes his little fingers into Dave's ears as a love gesture. (It's possible that this will get old for the recipient.) The other night he climbed into our bed and dreamed he was feeding Dave olives. This is a real love gesture; olives are Thomas's best favorite food. He laughed and laughed in his sleep, and murmured, "Dad! Dad! I feed you my olives!"
