The Friday round-up

Well, we didn't take James out for a haircut last weekend, as we promised in our last entry. Instead, I started trimming his bangs mid-weekend since they were driving him nuts. He protested at first, but -- once Dad appeared on the scene to entertain/distract him -- seemed not to mind too much. We figured we should strike while the iron was hot, and gave him a quick, yet complete, preliminary trim. The results look nice! Photographic evidence to follow.

Of course, even though we left it fairly long, he looks much more like a big boy now. I'm a little sad about this. He seems to be enjoying it, though.

James has also made friends with the guys who run the garage where we park downtown. Every day when we arrive, they greet him as though he were Bono from U2. James could not enjoy this more. He always responds with enthusiasm, giving high-fives and smiles to everyone. He loves to try to grab the garage receipt from my hand, so they've started saving past receipts so that he can have one of his very own.

He's still opposed to footwear. Latest trick: yanking off his shoes and quietly trying to deposit them into the offertory basket at church. Oops.

Not James news, but happy: Mystery Guest (James's sibling-to-be) appears to be doing well, according to our latest checkup.
