Wedding!
We drove up to Boston for Ben and Amie's wedding last weekend. It was fantastic.
James had a great time visiting his Grandpa Bill and Grandma Suzanne on the way up. (They were nice enough to have us over for lunch while we were driving through Connecticut, and we were so happy to have the chance to see them.)
James also had a blast at the wedding. I'm with him -- it was a great wedding. Mid-October is the perfect time to get married (Dave and I should know -- we celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary in the car on the way back), the wedding took place in a beautiful outdoor garden, and the weather was sunny and just warm enough to be pleasant without being hot.
One particular wedding moment stands out for me: Amie's brother and sister-in-law had just finished rehearsing their solo, and there was a hush as the chuppah holders took their places and Ben and his parents prepared to walk up the aisle.
From our seats, we could hear all the beautiful sounds of nature. The rustling of leaves! The scurrying of small animals! The twittering of birds!
You know what comes next:
"Growrrwrwrwrrrrrrrrr!"
Fortunately James has a strong sense of occasion, and these were the quietest growls I've ever heard from him. A good performance.
