Potty animal

James is the potty king of Rockville!  Over the past few days, he's occasionally come up to me and asked to use the potty, and I've begun taking him there as part of our leaving-the-house and going-to-bed rituals.  But, until yesterday, he had only used the potty for minor business (i.e., #1).  Last night, however, he announced:  "Poop in potty."  I set him up on the potty right away, and he performed like a champ.  Wow!

It grieves me to admit that the "Elmo Uses the Potty" video was a big help in making James comfortable with the idea of potty use, and with important side concepts like washing his hands.  After his big performance, I lifted him up to the sink so he could wash up.  After a moment with the soap and water, I turned off the faucet and started to put him down.  Mistake!  "Towel, please," he requested, giving me a sharp look.
