Trainspotting

So we didn't realize when we began choosing names for the boys that "James" and "Thomas" are the names of two of the trains on "Thomas the Tank Engine."  I've only seen a few minutes of this show, but it seems to be about a bunch of trains that live on an island (with George Carlin, bizarrely) and run around pulling freight.  Each train apparently has its own personality, complete with a besetting sin:  Thomas is cheeky; James has a temper.
Actually, this seems to match our own Thomas and James experiences pretty closely.
At any rate, although we haven't met many other kids named Thomas or James, everybody under the age of about 6 is wild with joy when they hear the boys' names.
The other trains are "Percy" and "Fergus" -- we're not keeping those in reserve for any future children.
Speaking of Thomas the train, James just got some boots that feature that Thomas, and wears them everywhere.  He gets confused, though, when strangers call them "Thomas boots."

I'm pretty sure that's Ringo Starr, not George Carlin. My cousin Janice's son (Nick, about 4 years old) is an enormous Thomas the Tank Engine fan.
