I love a man who knows his own mind
I put Thomas down on a mat for some tummy time yesterday. He flipped onto his back as usual, played around for a minute, then rolled onto his side and kept going. He had almost succeeded in flipping back onto his tummy when the thought visibly occurred to him: "Oh, no! The tall people keep putting me down this way, and I hate it! I can't do this to MYSELF! Nooo!"
He thrashed back and forth until he'd flung himself onto his back again, then lay there looking relieved.
James has taken up the habit of going to sleep in his own bed, then coming to visit us around 3 AM. Over the past couple of days he's started bringing props. The first night he brought his own pillow and blanket from his bed. The night before last he came in, asked to come into our bed, then said, "No, wait!" He marched back out of our room, fetched his hat, socks, and one shoe, and came back. The second shoe departed for parts unknown; I only found it this morning.
Luckily, he didn't bring us anything last night; we were starting to wonder what would be next.
