The chorus
We recently received a lovely wooden puzzle featuring Eric Carle characters. As you replace each piece in the puzzle, it makes the character's signature noise. Thus, for instance, the Very Quiet Cricket makes a cricket chirp, the Very Hungry Caterpillar makes a munchy noise, the Very Busy Spider's spinnerets click, and the sun makes a ka-DAAAAH noise that I assume must be the sound of solar radiation.
The only problem with this neato gift is that its sounds are light-activated, and the boys promptly hid all the pieces. Now whenever the sun goes behind a cloud we are treated to a chorus of "chirp-chirp-click-click-munch-munch-ka-DAAAH!"
I have hidden the puzzle board at the bottom of the newspaper basket. This should hold us until the next time I take out the recycling.
