James and the Purple Crayon

We checked out Harold and the Purple Crayon from the library today. It was an instant hit with the boys, particularly James. I whipped out some paper and a purple crayon of his own and he drew [something unrecognizable, which he then explained was] his favorite scene from our holiday trip to Atlanta: the great moment on Christmas afternoon when the big truck came and fixed Mimi's flat tire.

Don't get me wrong -- both boys enjoyed the family, food, and presents -- but, if James retains a long-term memory from this Christmas, the AAA tow truck will play a starring role.
