A frog's life

We got James a toy frog for Christmas.  He likes to pick it up, bounce it along the table, and say, "Hi, frog!  Hop, hop, hop.  Up, down.  Bye, bugs!"

James is also a big fan of Thomas (as long as Dad is not holding him) and likes to tell us when he thinks Thomas is hungry, or needs to be held, or might like a binky.  "Thomas" is a little hard to say, though, so he's become known as Mish.  An example: this morning I turned from brushing my teeth to find that James had come in and was studying Thomas, who was lying on our bed and chuffling quietly.  "Hi, Mish!  [Turning to me] Mish - up!  Now!"

Thomas, for his part, has become the rolling-over king of Rockville.  I put him on his play mat for some tummy time yesterday.  Turns out tummy time is not popular with him -- he rolled over four separate times, both toward the left and toward the right.  Each time I put him back on his tummy to see if he would do it again, he gave me a look of calm resignation.
