Home again!

We flew home from Berlin yesterday. I have to say that waking up at five Berlin time to catch the Berlin-Munich flight, then taking most of the Munich airport at a full sprint, then being about the last people to get on the nine-hour flight home, is not a cinch no matter how good your kids are, but the boys were fantastic. They made friends with several of the flight attendants -- James went so far as to try to chat one of them up by telling her, "Our old garage door broke! Men came and took it off and put on a new one. They used a machine! Now we have a new garage door with windows and rectangles on it." She was suitably impressed. He got two cookies out of the deal

The boys were sad to leave the hotel, particularly its bathroom. When we first arrived at the hotel, James rushed into the bathroom for a pee and then shouted "Look! There is a little sink here, just for James! It is right next to the potty! It has soap and a special little towel. They made the sink for James!"

Thomas, meanwhile, discovered that the bathroom floor was heated (a thing I've only seen in business hotels in Europe) and espaliered himself on it, basking in the warmth.
